In honor of my Irish heritage (my Grandmother was Irish and had the most beautiful flaming red hair!!!) here are some Irishisms to share with you on this St. Patty’s Day!

Leprechauns, castles, good luck and laughter. Lullabies, dreams and love ever after. Poems and songs with pipes and drums. A thousand welcomes when anyone comes… That’s the Irish for you!”

“I want to say thank you to my husband. I want to say may you never
steal, lie or cheat. But if you must steal, then steal away my sorrows. And if you must lie, lie with me all the nights of my life. And if you must cheat then please cheat death because I couldn’t live a day without you. Cheers!”

“There are only two kinds of people in the world,” an Irish saying goes. “The Irish and those who wish they were.”

May you be in
Heaven a half hour before the
Devil knows you’re dead!

When Irish eyes are smiling,
Tis like a morn in spring.
With a lilt of Irish laughter
You can hear the angels sing
When Irish hearts are happy
All the world is bright and gay
When Irish eyes are smiling
Sure, they steal your heart away.

Bricks and mortar make a house but the laughter of children makes a home.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day, my friends!
