I went to smart coach and set up a low intensity program for a half within 4 months (the program does not allow anything beyond 16 weeks), but this was just to give you an idea of what it might look like to build up. That means you could do something like the couch to 5k for the next 8 weeks to build a base, then use a program similar to this to go from 5k to half by 6 months.
