I met up with Bertha at her office and dragged her out on a quick 6.45 mile run. The weather’s about 30 degrees, sunny, crisp and lovely today! No wind, so again – perfect running weather. Poor B’s legs were aching from running a ton on the elliptical yesterday where she pushed to the max for half an hour. She’s also seeing a PT tonight about her IT band. Hopefully, everything is fine or will be healed soon. I don’t want anything happening to my favorite running pal!  I need her!!!

Today we ran through two golf courses, a college campus and along some ditches. It was truly beautiful out there. I love crisp, Fall weather! The mud glopping to our shoes was a bit of an issue, but nothing that a nice cattle guard here and there can’t assist with since they’re great for scraping your shoes on.  The mountains are getting especially beautiful this time of the year. Down here in the valley where I live, we get frost in the mornings, but we rarely get much snowfall. Just in the distance, though, we can enjoy the breathtaking views of the snow capped mountains that surround my entire county. I’ve often said that living in southern Idaho is like living in the bottom of a beautiful bowl. You can spin in a circle and see mountains on all sides! This time of year the ski resorts open up and at nighttime when you look off into the distance from where I live towards them you can see the white lights lining the ski hills and dots weave in such a way that it looks just like Santa and his reindeer! I really thought that’s what it was when I was a little girl.

Anyways….it was a lovely run. On the downside..my weight is up again. I’m 130 today.  I think the late night snacking Wayne and I’ve been doing together the past few days is to blame. I’ll work on that and try to rein that weight back in!

I’m really loving getting to be a morning runner! I had no idea how awesome it was to get my run out of the way in the morning before I taught school or cleaned the house! It’s fantastic! I get a buzz that carries me through the rest of the day.  I think this is going to be a pretty awesome winter of training! Only two more weeks before I start my official half marathon schedule! I can’t wait
